Wine & Food Tour

In this tour we invite you to the area hemmed in the Meta Mountains, where pure gastronomy is in the very rural work, which defined the popular food system over ages. You’ll be introduced in the discovering experience of Cabernet Atina Doc wine tradition, a wine derived from a French grape variety, planted by the agronomist Pasquale Visocchi for the very first time in Italy.

You’ll visit the first vinery in which he produced the wine in the 1860s, but also one of the present wineries that produce the same wine now, becoming the second “Doc” of Frosinone province. The tour continues with the precious Pecorino cheese from Picinisco, where there’s actually a thousand-years tradition of making cheese, just testified by plenty of documents, kept alive thanks to the families very careful use of old techniques and preservation shapes.

Finally you’ll have a look at a very rare product, the Cannellino Bean, a bean that is unique in Italy for its tasting, due to the particular climatic condition of this area.

    - Visit to a Winery where Atina Cabernet is produced.

    - Visit to Picinisco and to Pacitti Farm, where Pecorino cheese is made. Here you will also be introduced in the      famous writer Lawrence House, where he lived for a short period writing “The Lost Girl”.

    - Arrival in Campoli Appenino, to discover Marzolina Production and Truffles. Guided tour in the La    Camosciata Farm, with truffle-dogs demonstration.
    - Walk around San Donato village and visit to the Geologic Museum.
